ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion Mikey “Darth Rigatoni” Musumeci is widely considered one of the best American-born Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors in history.

The Italian-American prodigy began training at 4 years old, spending much of his time before and after school developing techniques in the gym alongside his future World Champion sister, Tammi.

After claiming numerous IBJJF World Championships in the colored belt ranks, Musumeci was awarded his black belt at the age of 18. Two years later, he won the first of his five IBJJF Black Belt World Titles, firmly cementing himself as a superstar in the sport.

With so much success in the BJJ world, “Darth Rigatoni” joined ONE Championship in 2022 to compete in the organization’s growing submission grappling ranks. He debuted against Japanese legend Masakazu Imanari and made a statement with a decisive rear-naked choke victory.

In his next match, Musumeci earned a decision over Cleber Sousa in their long-awaited trilogy battle to win the inaugural ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Title. Since then, he has successfully defended the belt three times, including submission victories in his last two appearances.

Next, the 27-year-old aims to showcase the power of jiu-jitsu when he faces Japanese martial arts icon and former ONE Lightweight MMA World Champion Shinya Aoki in an openweight submission grappling contest at ONE Fight Night 15 on Prime Video.
